Photos and Fingerprints
You have to complete and submit the Form DS-160 online when you file for a nonimmigrant visa,.You need to Schedule an appointment for the Consulate /Embassy and the Visa Application Center. when you arrive for your interview at the Visa Application Center your fingerprints and your photo will be captured
Note: Guardians/Parents must bring a hardcopy photograph and other supporting documents of the children below 14 years of age at the Visa Application Center along. Children below 14 years of age are not required to be present at the Consulate/Embassy or Visa Application Center for the interview in person.
At the Visa Application Center an ink-free, digital fingerprint scan will be taken quickly Few applicant’s fingerprints are not required, including:
- Applicants those who are traveling on official government business, except for G-5 and A-3 applicants
- Under the age of 14 or over the age of 79 are not required.
Photo Requirements Your application photo must have meet certain criteria regarding size and content., your photo must be taken within the last six months to reflect your current appearance.This generally means your photo must not be the same one that appeared on your old visa If you are renewing visa.

Please Sit in front of a plain white or off-white background for best results. The area behind you in the photo should be uncluttered and either white or off-white.
You must sit in a pose so that your face is fully-lit and there are no distracting shadows across your face or in the background.
